WhatsApp users will now be able to enjoy more dynamic and fluid stickers, thanks to the introduction of the Lottie framework support. This new feature was first spotted in a beta version of the WhatsApp for Android app in February, and now it is being rolled out widely with the latest stable update for both Android and iOS platforms. The first sticker pack to showcase these interactive stickers is called “I’m Just a Girl”.

The Lottie framework support allows for more dynamic animations in stickers, a significant step forward from the WebP format currently used for sticker packs. The use of motion graphic design software like Adobe After Effects enables developers to create fluid animations that can be scaled without compromising resolution. Stickers created using Lottie are vector-based, giving users the flexibility to adjust animations according to their preferences.

In addition to the new sticker feature, Meta Platforms, the parent company of WhatsApp, has announced the introduction of Meta AI chatbot to Indian users. This AI chatbot, powered by Meta’s Llama 3 large language model (LLM), will be available across various Meta apps including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Initially announced in April, the chatbot is finally making its way to Indian users and is expected to be fully functional in the coming days.

The introduction of dynamic stickers with Lottie framework support enhances the overall user experience on WhatsApp, adding a new dimension to communication through expressive visuals. Users can now enjoy more engaging and creative sticker animations that are not limited by traditional image formats. On the other hand, the integration of Meta AI chatbot brings advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to Indian users, enabling smarter interactions across Meta platforms.

Overall, the new features introduced by WhatsApp demonstrate the platform’s commitment to innovation and enhancing user experiences. With dynamic stickers powered by the Lottie framework and the introduction of Meta AI chatbot in India, WhatsApp users can look forward to a more interactive and intelligent messaging experience. As technology continues to evolve, these updates pave the way for a more engaging and personalized communication environment on WhatsApp.
