WhatsApp recently announced a new update that allows users to set certain contacts as favorites. This feature enables users to prioritize and easily access the people they frequently contact, both in WhatsApp Chats and Calls.

The new update introduced by WhatsApp aims to help users organize their chats more efficiently by adding frequently contacted chats under the favorites filter. This filter is now available alongside the All, Unread, and Groups filters on the instant messaging platform.

In addition to setting favorites in the Chats tab, users now have the option to set favorites in the Calls tab as well. By selecting the ‘Add favorites’ option and choosing the desired contacts, users can easily customize their Calls tab for quick access to important contacts.

To add contacts to favorites, users can open WhatsApp and select the favorites filter in the Chats tab. From there, they can choose the contacts or groups they wish to save as favorites and tap on the filter to only view the selected contacts. Similarly, to set contacts as favorites in the WhatsApp Calls tab, users can select the ‘Add favorites’ option and choose the desired contacts.

To manage contacts saved as favorites, users can go to Settings > Favorites > Add to Favorites. This setting allows users to easily manage, reorder, or remove contacts saved as favorites for a more personalized messaging experience.

WhatsApp has announced that the new favorites feature is being introduced starting today and will be gradually rolled out to users in the coming weeks. However, there have been reports of some users not being able to access the feature on both WhatsApp for Android and iOS. It is possible that the feature is being released in phases, with some devices receiving it before others.

Overall, WhatsApp’s introduction of the favorites feature is aimed at enhancing the user experience by providing a convenient way to access frequently contacted contacts. By allowing users to prioritize and customize their chats and calls, this update demonstrates WhatsApp’s commitment to improving user interaction on the platform. As the feature continues to roll out to more users, it is expected to become a valuable tool for managing contacts and conversations efficiently.
