Recently, Tesla made a series of significant changes to its Cybertruck lineup. The company has ceased the sale of the $60,990 RWD Cybertruck, the most affordable version of its distinctive electric truck. In addition, Tesla has raised the price of the AWD Cybertruck by $20,000, bringing its new price tag to $99,990. This alteration has caused a substantial increase in the starting price of the Cybertruck, now standing at $39,000 higher than before. Furthermore, the tri-motor version of the Cybertruck, aptly named the Cyberbeast, has also seen a price hike, now priced at $119,990.

While the price adjustments for the Cybertruck are unwelcome news for potential buyers, Tesla has also made changes to the delivery timelines for the vehicles. The company has expedited the delivery of AWD Cybertrucks, with estimated delivery dates set between August and September 2024. On the other hand, the Cyberbeast is now projected to be delivered between October and December 2024. These delivery dates are a significant improvement from the previously indicated 2025 delivery timeline.

Despite the adjustments in pricing and delivery timelines, Tesla continues to face challenges with its Cybertruck model. This year alone, the company has issued two recalls for the Cybertruck, one for faulty accelerator pedals and another for defective wiper blades. These recalls have added to the negative publicity surrounding the Cybertruck and have raised concerns about the vehicle’s quality and safety standards. Additionally, Tesla has been experiencing a period of financial instability, with declining profits, federal investigations, legal battles, and further recalls contributing to the company’s struggles.

The recent changes to Tesla’s Cybertruck lineup highlight the volatility of the electric vehicle market. While the price increases and delivery adjustments may disappoint some potential buyers, Tesla’s efforts to expedite the delivery process are a positive development. However, the ongoing challenges and setbacks facing the Cybertruck, including recalls and financial difficulties, underscore the obstacles that Tesla must overcome to establish the Cybertruck as a successful and reliable electric truck in the market.
