Reddit is rolling out new updates to its popular “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) feature, making it easier for users to plan and promote their interview sessions. One key addition is the new AMA scheduling tool, which allows Redditors to choose “AMA” as a post type within the scheduling flow on desktop. This feature enables users to set a start time for their AMA session up to 21 days in advance, streamlining the planning process significantly. Previously, users had to create separate posts to announce the scheduled time and the start of the AMA, but now it can all be done in one post.

In addition to scheduling, Reddit is also introducing new features to help users build hype for their upcoming AMA sessions. Redditors will now have the ability to share preview links for their AMAs, allowing them to promote the event in advance. Furthermore, a new “Remind Me” button will send push notifications to interested users 24 hours before the AMA and right before it begins, maximizing attendance and spreading the word about the session.

Another noteworthy update is the introduction of guest collaborators for AMA sessions. AMA hosts can now add up to five guests who can answer questions within the session. This is particularly useful for events with multiple participants, such as interviews with K-Pop bands. Each guest will have their own profile to respond from, enhancing the overall experience for both hosts and attendees.

To provide a clearer conclusion to AMA sessions, Reddit is adding new end notes that signal when the session has finished. Hosts will also be able to share links to other social channels in these end notes, allowing attendees to continue engaging after the AMA ends. Additionally, Reddit is introducing the option to sort AMA comments by “Answered” and “Unanswered”, making it easier for users to navigate through the discussion and see what information was shared during the session.

These updates are designed to enhance the overall utility of Reddit’s AMA feature, providing users with more tools to maximize their interview sessions on the platform. AMA sessions have always been among Reddit’s top performing posts, and these new updates aim to further solidify the importance of this element within the app. With improved scheduling, collaboration options, and sorting features, Reddit is paving the way for a more engaging and organized AMA experience for both hosts and participants.
