The popular multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight, has announced its latest chapter inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. The upcoming killer, Vecna, a long-running mega-baddie and inspiration for the Stranger Things villain, will bring a new level of excitement to the game. Voiced by Critical Role dungeon master, Matthew Mercer, Vecna will introduce new gameplay mechanics and challenges for players to overcome.
Vecna, the powerful lich, will have four spells at his disposal, marking a first for Dead by Daylight. Players can expect to experience unique abilities such as flight, firing off projectiles, and using D&D favorite Mage Hand to manipulate objects in the environment. In addition, Vecna can reveal survivors in a Dispelling Sphere and negate magical items, adding a strategic element to the gameplay. His Hand and Eye, along with other magical items, will be scattered throughout the new Forgotten Ruins map, providing players with powerful gear to aid them in their survival.
The Troupe, consisting of Baermar Uraz and Aestri Yazar, will be the new survivors introduced in the D&D chapter. These human and elf bard characters possess unique abilities such as creating illusions, casting Bardic Inspiration to boost ally performance, and spotting nearby generators and items with Still Sight. Their dynamic skills will offer players new ways to outsmart and outmaneuver the deadly Vecna.
Following the release of the D&D chapter, Behaviour Interactive has teased an upcoming chapter inspired by Castlevania. Players can look forward to encountering a bloodsucking Dracula and a Belmont survivor in what promises to be an exciting addition to the game. Additionally, a new supersized casual mode will be introduced, doubling the number of players and offering a fresh gameplay experience. With two killers facing off against eight survivors, the balance of power is sure to shift in new and unexpected ways.
