TikTok seems to be following in the footsteps of Instagram yet again, this time with a new feature called “Collaboration”. The app is currently working on this feature, as indicated by a screenshot shared by app researcher Radu Oncescu. This new option will allow users to tag collaborators on a post, linking their profiles to the post details.

According to findings by The SpAndroid team who delved into the latest back-end code updates, here are some key points about the soon-to-be-released feature:
– Creators can invite up to 5 other creators to collaborate on a post.
– Users will have the ability to approve collaborator listings and can decline those they do not wish to include.
– Users can also remove themselves as collaborators after the post has been created.
– Collaborator posts will be visible on both the creator’s and collaborator’s profiles, with only the creator being able to edit the post.
– Inviting people to collaborate on a post can be done up to four times a month.

While the collaboration feature on TikTok may seem like a replica of the one on Instagram, it still holds potential value. It provides users with another way to engage with specific audiences and expand their reach on the app. Additionally, it could serve as a more streamlined approach to conducting affiliate campaigns and showcasing brands to a larger audience through partner accounts.

Although the collaboration feature has not been officially released, it appears to be in late-stage testing, indicating that its launch is imminent. Users can expect to see this new feature on TikTok in the near future. While it may not be groundbreaking in terms of originality, it does offer a fresh way for creators to collaborate and connect with their audience on the platform.
