WhatsApp is reportedly in the process of developing a new feature involving artificial intelligence (AI). This feature will allow users to engage in hands-free verbal conversations with Meta AI, the AI chatbot integrated into the app. Previously, it was rumored that WhatsApp would enable users to send voice notes to Meta AI for one-way communication. However, the latest information suggests that the AI chatbot will also respond verbally, enhancing the interactive experience.
According to a recent post by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the voice mode feature for Meta AI has been identified in the WhatsApp beta version for Android and iOS. Furthermore, additional screenshots suggest the presence of up to 10 different voices for users to choose from, each potentially offering unique accents, energy levels, or tonal qualities.
The Meta AI voice mode feature may also include options for enabling captions and transcriptions through text-to-speech technology.
