Meta is expanding access to its Verification for Business subscription package, allowing brands in more countries to purchase a blue checkmark for their Facebook and/or Instagram profiles. With new higher-priced tiers and additional elements being introduced, businesses have more options to consider when it comes to verification.

The new Verification for Business packages offer four increasingly higher-priced tiers, each with its own set of add-on benefits. The individual profile costs are displayed, with a 20% discount for brands that verify both their Facebook and Instagram profiles. However, the price tag for the highest tier is relatively high at $499 per month, or $699.98 per month if opting to verify both profiles.

All Meta’s Verification for Business packages include a verified badge, enhanced account support, and impersonation monitoring. Depending on the tier you choose, additional features may include enhanced profile options, search optimization, featured account display units, links in Reels, employee impersonation protection, customized messaging chats, and account review from a Meta expert.

While the new add-ons offer additional benefits, they come with significantly higher price points. Whether it’s worth spending $500 per month for the full suite of Meta Business add-ons is debatable. The value you receive may not justify the cost, but for businesses heavily invested in Facebook or Instagram promotions, the additional features could be worthwhile.

The value of the new account review option remains to be seen, but Meta believes it will provide enhanced value, especially since it is unique to the top-tier package. While the new add-ons may offer more benefits, the true worth of spending on these features cannot be determined until more brands have tested them out.

Ultimately, the decision to invest in Meta’s Verification for Business packages depends on your business’s specific needs and budget. While the blue checkmark has traditionally been seen as a mark of credibility, its value may have diminished over time. However, with the introduction of new add-ons, there may be additional benefits to consider, especially for businesses heavily reliant on Facebook and Instagram for promotion. It may be wise to wait and observe the results from big brands before making a decision to purchase a verification tick for your brand.
